Liposuction Cannulas and Accessories › Flap Dissector Liposuction Cannulas › Flap Dissector Liposuction Cannula – Lumsail Compatible
The Flap Dissector Liposuction Cannula with Lumsail Compatible fitting is supplied with a hub built for that equipment, carrying the same shaft and tip as every other fitting in the range. It is listed under Flap Dissector Liposuction Cannulas, part of the Healermed Liposuction Cannulas and Accessories range.
Surgeons also search for this instrument as a flap dissector cannula, a spatula dissector, a tissue plane dissector, or a blunt flap elevator cannula.
At a Glance
Equipment-specific hubs exist because handpiece manufacturers do not share a common fitting. An instrument that fits one machine will not seat in another, and forcing or adapting a fitting introduces play at exactly the point that carries the mechanical load.
A flap dissector raises tissue planes. The working end is flattened into a broad, blunt spatula rather than drawn to a point or a V, and the shaft behind it is solid: there are no ports and nothing is aspirated through this instrument.
The flat head is the whole design. A round cannula separates tissue along a narrow line, so raising a wide plane with one means many parallel passes that have to be joined up afterwards, and the joins are where irregularity comes from. A broad flat head opens the plane across its full width in a single sweep, so the flap lifts evenly and at one consistent depth.
Depth control is the second gain. A flat head naturally follows the plane it is in, because the wide face resists tipping up or down in a way a round shaft does not. The surgeon sets the level once and the instrument tends to hold it, which matters when the flap being raised is thin and the layer above it has to survive.
It is blunt on every surface. It separates by spreading and lifting, pushing perforators, nerves and fibrous attachments aside rather than dividing them, which is what allows it to be used under a flap where a sharpened instrument would risk the blood supply. Where an attachment will not yield, it is released deliberately with a sharp dissector rather than forced with this one.

Order this fitting only if your handpiece takes it, and send us your machine details before placing a large order. Head width and shaft length matter more than diameter on this instrument, because the head sets how much plane each sweep opens. Wider heads on the 3.0mm to 4.0mm shafts in 25cm to 35cm suit abdominal and body flap work, where the plane is large and the reach is long. Narrower heads on the 2.0mm to 2.5mm shafts in 15cm to 25cm suit the face, neck and arms. Tell us the plane you are raising and we will confirm the head width that fits it.
The instrument is made from German stainless steel with a passivated surface that resists corrosion and pitting through repeated cleaning cycles. It is reusable and can be steam autoclaved at 134°C. Clean immediately after use and dry fully before autoclaving. A flat head has no lumen but its faces and edges trap tissue against the shaft junction, so brush that junction specifically and inspect the whole head under light at every cycle. Sight along the head to confirm it has not been bent, since a distorted head no longer follows a plane evenly and cannot be corrected on a reusable instrument.

What is a flap dissector liposuction cannula used for?
It is used to raise and separate tissue flaps and planes during body contouring, liposuction and reconstructive procedures. The broad flattened blunt head opens the plane across its full width as it sweeps, lifting the flap evenly at one depth while pushing perforators and fibrous attachments aside rather than dividing them.
What is the difference between a flap dissector and a V-dissector?
A V-dissector has a narrow V tip that splits tissue along a line and travels between the halves, which suits pre-tunnelling a route. A flap dissector has a broad flattened head that opens a plane across its full width in one sweep, which suits raising a flap evenly. Both are blunt; they open different shapes of space.
Is this instrument autoclavable?
Yes. It is fully reusable and can be steam autoclaved at 134°C. Clean immediately after use, remove all residue before sterilization, and dry completely.
Which size should I use?
Wider heads on 3.0mm to 4.0mm shafts in 25cm to 35cm suit abdominal and body flap work where the plane is large and the reach is long. Narrower heads on 2.0mm to 2.5mm shafts in 15cm to 25cm suit the face, neck and arms. Head width matters more than shaft diameter here, since the head sets how much plane each sweep opens.
What is the minimum order quantity for bulk orders?
The minimum order quantity is agreed per order rather than set at a fixed number. Send us the sizes, fittings and quantities you need through the wholesale request page and we will confirm the minimum for that specification.
Do you provide samples?
Yes. Samples are available on request and the buyer covers the shipping charges. Send us your machine details with the diameter and length you want to evaluate.
Can I order a custom size?
Yes. Custom diameters, working lengths and configurations are available on request in addition to the standard size grid. Send your specification through the wholesale request page and our production team will confirm what can be produced.
