What is the difference between Weil-Blakesley and Takahashi forceps?

Both are through-cutting nasal forceps. Weil-Blakesley patterns are available in upturned angles for reaching superiorly within the ethmoid, while Takahashi forceps are typically straight with a longer, narrower jaw. Most sinus sets carry both.

Why choose a dull or matte finish for ENT instruments?

Because endoscopic and headlight illumination reflects off polished steel straight back into the surgeon’s view. A non-reflective finish removes that glare. It costs the same and is worth specifying.
