Quire and Buck Foreign Body Levers
Foreign body lever forceps have a small lever tip that is passed behind an object stuck in the ear canal, so it can be drawn out instead of pushed deeper.
They are used for round or smooth objects that ordinary forceps cannot grip, such as beads, seeds and small stones. The Quire lever is 10.5cm long and the Buck lever is a slightly longer 11.5cm pattern.

Care and Sterilization
The working ends are fine and should be used only for their own job, never to lever or force. Clean straight after use, dry fully, and store each instrument with its tip protected. Check the tip at every cycle. Clean the instrument straight after use, before blood and tissue dry on the tip. Use a soft brush and an ultrasonic cleaner, rinse, and dry fully. Put a drop of instrument lubricant on the joint before sterilizing. Steam autoclave at up to 134°C in a tray with a silicone mat or tip guard, so the fine tip never knocks against other instruments. Check the tip under magnification at every cycle.
