Lempert Periosteal Elevator
The Lempert periosteal elevator is a strong elevator for lifting the periosteum and soft tissue off the bone in ear and mastoid surgery.
It is used to raise the periosteum over the mastoid during a postauricular approach, and to lift soft tissue cleanly from bone before drilling.
It is made in two lengths, 18cm and 20.5cm, with a 4mm or 6mm blade. The 6mm blade lifts a wider area; the 4mm blade gives more control in tighter places.

Rosen Micro Ear Elevator
The Rosen micro ear elevator is a fine 1.2mm elevator for lifting the ear canal skin and the eardrum flap away from the bone in middle ear surgery.
The small 1.2mm tip slides under the thin canal skin and lifts it without tearing, for raising the tympanomeatal flap under the microscope.

Care and Sterilization
The working ends are fine and should be used only for their own job, never to lever or force. Clean straight after use, dry fully, and store each instrument with its tip protected. Check the tip at every cycle. Clean the instrument straight after use, before blood and tissue dry on the tip. Use a soft brush and an ultrasonic cleaner, rinse, and dry fully. Put a drop of instrument lubricant on the joint before sterilizing. Steam autoclave at up to 134°C in a tray with a silicone mat or tip guard, so the fine tip never knocks against other instruments. Check the tip under magnification at every cycle.
