Hartmann Eustachian Catheter
The Hartmann Eustachian catheter is a curved metal tube passed through the nose to the opening of the Eustachian tube.
Air is blown through the catheter into the Eustachian tube to inflate the middle ear and check whether the tube is open. The curved tip is turned into the tube opening at the back of the nose.
It is made in 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0mm diameters, so the catheter can be matched to the size of the nose and the patient.

Care and Sterilization
The working ends are fine and should be used only for their own job, never to lever or force. Clean straight after use, dry fully, and store each instrument with its tip protected. Check the tip at every cycle. Clean the instrument straight after use, before blood and tissue dry on the tip. Use a soft brush and an ultrasonic cleaner, rinse, and dry fully. Put a drop of instrument lubricant on the joint before sterilizing. Steam autoclave at up to 134°C in a tray with a silicone mat or tip guard, so the fine tip never knocks against other instruments. Check the tip under magnification at every cycle.
