The Rosen micro ear elevator is a fine, angled periosteal elevator used to raise the tympanomeatal flap and separate delicate periosteum from bone during middle ear surgery. It measures 15.5 cm (6") overall and is made from German stainless steel. This instrument is used by otologists, ENT surgeons, hospital theatres and surgical centres, and it belongs to our ENT Knives and Elevators range.
Surgeons also refer to this instrument as a Rosen elevator, a micro ear periosteal elevator, or simply an ear elevator.

Ear elevators of this pattern are also kept in general ENT and head and neck sets where fine periosteal dissection is needed.
Every Rosen ear elevator is made from German stainless steel, passivated to resist rust, staining and pitting. The instrument is fully reusable and can be steam autoclaved at 134°C. Clean it immediately after use, remove blood and tissue before it dries, rinse with distilled water and dry fully before storage. Correct cleaning and drying is what determines how long a stainless steel instrument keeps its surface and its edge geometry.

What is a Rosen micro ear elevator used for?
It is used to lift the tympanomeatal flap and separate periosteum from bone during middle ear surgery. The angled blunt blade slides under tissue and raises it without cutting. Surgeons use it in tympanoplasty, stapedectomy, exploratory tympanotomy and mastoid procedures where the working space is only a few millimetres wide.
What is the difference between a Rosen elevator and a Rosen needle?
A Rosen elevator has a blunt, flattened, angled blade for lifting and separating tissue. A Rosen needle has a fine, sharp, pointed tip for picking, probing and making the initial incision in the ear canal skin. Both are 15.5 cm otology instruments and are often used in the same procedure, but the elevator lifts and the needle pierces.
Is the Rosen ear elevator autoclavable?
Yes. It is a fully reusable instrument and can be steam autoclaved at 134°C. It has no plastic parts, coatings or joints that trap fluid. Clean and dry the instrument before each sterilization cycle to protect the stainless steel surface.
Can I get this ear elevator with my own branding?
Yes. Custom branding and OEM production are available on this instrument. Distributors and importers can have their own name and logo laser marked on the handle. Use the wholesale request link above to discuss OEM requirements.
