The angle is also the part that wears. A bevel is a shaped edge, and if it is dulled or flattened the cannula stops leading tissue in and starts pushing it aside, which is the behaviour the design exists to avoid. The distal tip is closed and rounded, separating the plane by blunt dissection while the vacuum works through the beveled opening rather than the end of the shaft.

Flush the lumen and the opening with clean water immediately after use and dry fully before autoclaving. The bevel is the working part of this cannula, so inspect the angled edge under light at every cycle: once it is dulled or flattened the opening stops leading tissue in and starts pushing it aside, which is the opposite of what the design is for.
