The Blunt Hole On Tip Extractor Injector Cannula with Universal Luer Lock fitting is used to place fat in fat transfer and fat grafting. It is listed under Blunt Hole On Tip Extractor Injector Cannulas, part of the Healermed Liposuction Cannulas and Accessories range.
At a Glance
Luer lock is a standard, but tolerances differ between brands, and a hub cut to the tight end of the band can seat poorly on some syringes. Under injection pressure a poor seat does not merely feel loose, it leaks graft at the hub. A universal hub is machined to sit centrally in that tolerance band so it locks properly across whatever syringe stock is on the shelf.
The same tip-opening layout as the sharpened version, with the edge left blunt. It still extracts and injects; it does both more gently and more slowly.
A blunt opening does not cut. On extraction it relies on vacuum to draw fat in, which is less efficient through fibrous tissue but applies no cutting force to the parcels. On injection it presents no edge for the graft to shear against on the way out, so what leaves the cannula is closer to what went in.
Placing the opening at the tip keeps the directness of the sharp version: fat leaves at the leading point, so the surgeon places a thread exactly where the tip sits. Blunt edges also make it safer to advance in thin recipient tissue, where a sharpened opening would divide anything it met.
Choose blunt when the recipient site is delicate or the graft matters more than the speed, and sharp when the donor tissue is fibrous and needs cutting to release.
An injector cannula is the delivery end of a fat transfer. The syringe supplies the pressure, but where the graft ends up, and in what form, is decided by the cannula: its diameter, its opening, and the way the surgeon moves it.
Placement is done in retrograde. The cannula is advanced through the recipient plane, and fat is laid down as it is withdrawn, so the graft fills the tunnel the cannula has just made rather than being forced into tissue ahead of it. Each pass deposits a thread of fat. A result is built from many of those threads, crossed and layered, not from a few large boluses.
That is why the opening matters. Its size sets the diameter of the thread laid down; its position sets which way the fat is directed as the cannula withdraws; and its edge decides whether the parcel passes cleanly or is sheared at the exit. A wider opening places more per pass and fills faster; a smaller one places less and gives finer control in thin tissue where the graft can be seen through the skin.
Diameter and length work with it. A narrower cannula makes a smaller tunnel and allows finer layering, but it also raises injection pressure for the same fat, so the surgeon pushes harder. A longer shaft covers more of the recipient area from one entry point, which means fewer punctures. Matching all of this to the graft volume and the recipient site is the whole skill of the instrument choice.

The cannula is made from German stainless steel with a passivated surface that resists corrosion and pitting through repeated cleaning cycles. It is reusable and can be steam autoclaved at 134°C. Flush the lumen and the opening with clean water immediately after use and dry fully before autoclaving. A blunt opening has no edge to lose, but it can be dented, and a deformed opening changes the thread it lays down. Sight along the tip at each cycle and flush until the water runs clear.

What is a blunt hole on tip injector cannula used for?
It is used to take and place fat in fat transfer procedures without a cutting edge. Vacuum draws parcels in on extraction and the blunt opening delivers them at the leading point on injection, which suits delicate recipient sites and grafts that should meet as little shearing as possible.
When should I choose blunt over a sharp tip opening?
Choose blunt when the recipient tissue is thin or delicate and when the graft should meet no cutting edge. Choose sharp when the donor tissue is fibrous and parcels need to be cut free to extract at a workable rate. The layout is otherwise identical.
Is this cannula autoclavable?
Yes. The instrument is fully reusable and can be steam autoclaved at 134°C. Flush the lumen and opening with clean water immediately after use, before graft residue sets, and dry completely before sterilization.
Which fitting should I order?
All four fittings are Luer lock types. Standard Luer lock suits most grafting syringes; stainless steel Luer lock is for high sterilization throughput; Super Luer Lock has a larger bore for lower injection resistance; universal Luer lock seats across syringe brands where consumable stock varies.
What is the minimum order quantity for bulk orders?
The minimum order quantity is agreed per order rather than set at a fixed number. Send us the sizes, fittings and quantities you need through the wholesale request page and we will confirm the minimum for that specification.
Do you provide samples?
Yes. Samples are available on request and the buyer covers the shipping charges. Tell us the diameter and length you want to evaluate and we will confirm what can be sent. Testing a sample against the syringe brands you actually stock confirms the universal hub fits your supply.
Can I order a custom size?
Yes. Custom diameters, working lengths and opening configurations are available on request in addition to the standard size grid. Send your specification through the wholesale request page and our production team will confirm what can be produced.
