Liposuction Cannulas and Accessories › Oval Hole On Top Liposuction Cannulas › Oval Hole On Top Liposuction Cannula
An oval hole on top liposuction cannula is a blunt-tip aspiration cannula with a single oval opening on the upper surface of the shaft, used to remove subcutaneous fat under vacuum during liposuction and body contouring. The elongated aperture draws along the line of travel rather than from a point, and facing it upward puts the removal in the layer the surgeon can see and feel. It sits in the Oval Hole On Top Liposuction Cannulas category, part of the wider Healermed Liposuction Cannulas and Accessories range, and is supplied in 13 hub and handle fittings and 84 diameter and length combinations worldwide.
Surgeons also refer to these instruments as oval port cannulas, oval window lipo cannulas, top-opening aspiration cannulas, or slot hole liposuction cannulas.
At a Glance
Hole shape and hole position are two separate choices, and most cannulas only make one of them deliberately. This pattern makes both: an oval aperture for a smooth release along the pass, positioned on top so the surgeon works the layer they can judge through the skin.
Two decisions define this cannula: the opening is oval rather than round, and it sits on the upper surface of the shaft rather than the side or underneath.
The oval shape stretches the aperture along the line of travel. A round hole of the same width draws from a spot; an oval draws from a short lane, so fat parts along the direction the cannula is already moving instead of being pulled sideways into a point. That gives a smoother release and a lower chance of the cannula grabbing as it advances.
Putting the opening on top is what makes it a superficial instrument. With the aperture facing the skin, the surgeon works the layer they can see and feel through the skin, judging the result directly rather than inferring it. Turn the cannula over and the same instrument works the deep layer instead. One shaft, two behaviours, chosen by rotation.
Together the two features suit the part of a case where a mistake shows. An oval aperture removes smoothly rather than in bites, and a top-facing opening means the surgeon is looking at the tissue being treated. The distal tip is closed and rounded, separating the plane by blunt dissection while the vacuum works through the oval opening rather than the end of the shaft.
Every fitting below carries the same oval hole on top shaft, the same closed blunt tip and the same size grid. Pick the one that matches the syringe, vacuum line or handpiece already in your theater.

The cannula is made from German stainless steel with a passivated surface that resists corrosion and pitting through repeated cleaning cycles. It is reusable and can be steam autoclaved at 134°C. Flush the lumen and the opening with clean water immediately after use and dry fully before autoclaving. An oval opening has a longer edge than a round one of the same width, so run a light along the whole perimeter at each cycle rather than glancing at it; a flat spot anywhere on that edge changes how smoothly the cannula releases tissue.
Diameter sets how much fat comes out per pass and length sets the reach. For body contouring of the abdomen, flanks and thighs, the 3.0mm to 4.0mm diameters in 25cm to 35cm are the usual working range. The 2.0mm to 2.5mm range in 15cm to 25cm covers arms, the neck and superficial refinement, which is where a top-facing oval aperture is chosen most often. The 1.0mm to 1.5mm diameters in 5cm to 12cm are for facial and submental contouring. Match the fitting to the syringe, vacuum line or handpiece already in your theater.

What is a oval hole on top liposuction cannula used for?
It is used to remove subcutaneous fat under vacuum during liposuction and body contouring. The oval opening draws along the line of travel for a smooth release, and because it faces upward the surgeon is working the layer they can see and feel through the skin. Rotating the shaft turns the same instrument into a deep-layer cannula.
What is the difference between an oval hole and a round hole cannula?
A round hole draws from a spot, pulling tissue sideways into the opening. An oval hole is stretched along the shaft, so it draws from a short lane in the direction the cannula is already travelling. The oval releases tissue more smoothly and is less likely to grab as the cannula advances.
Is this cannula autoclavable?
Yes. The instrument is fully reusable and can be steam autoclaved at 134°C. Flush the lumen and the opening with clean water immediately after use, remove all residue before sterilization, and dry completely. Inspect the opening edge under light at every cycle, since edge condition decides how the cannula behaves in tissue.
Which size should I use?
For body contouring of the abdomen, flanks and thighs, 3.0mm to 4.0mm diameters in 25cm to 35cm are the usual range. Arms, neck and superficial refinement suit 2.0mm to 2.5mm in 15cm to 25cm, which is where this pattern is chosen most often. Facial and submental contouring uses 1.0mm to 1.5mm in 5cm to 12cm.
What is the minimum order quantity for bulk orders?
The minimum order quantity is agreed per order rather than set at a fixed number. Send us the sizes, fittings and quantities you need through the wholesale request page and we will confirm the minimum for that specification. This lets a small distributor start with a trial order and a larger importer scale up on the same terms.
Do you provide samples?
Yes. Samples are available on request and the buyer covers the shipping charges. Tell us the diameter, length and fitting you want to evaluate and we will confirm what can be sent. Testing a sample before a bulk order is the fastest way to check edge finish and hub fit against your own equipment.
Can I order a custom size?
Yes. Custom diameters, working lengths and opening dimensions are available on request in addition to the standard size grid. Send your specification through the wholesale request page and our production team will confirm what can be produced. Custom branding is also available for distributor and OEM orders.
