The Luer Lock to Luer Lock Fat Transfer 2mm is a female-to-female connector that joins two syringes for closed-system fat transfer. Most of what happens to a graft between harvest and injection is transfer, not processing. This connector is built for that part: moving fat from one syringe to another without decanting it and without changing it more than the move requires.
It joins two syringes barrel to barrel. Both ends are Luer lock, so a filled syringe screws onto one side and an empty one onto the other, and the graft is driven between them through the bore in the middle.
Two things happen in that bore. The graft moves from one syringe to the other without being decanted, and it is sheared by the channel it passes through. The first is why the connector exists at all: transferring by pouring into a bowl and drawing back up exposes living tissue to room air and adds handling steps, where a screwed connection keeps the graft in a closed path from harvest to injection.
The second is why the bore size is on the label. A narrow channel breaks fat parcels down quickly and produces an emulsion; a wide one moves the same graft with its structure largely intact. At 2.0mm this connector sits deliberately toward the gentle end: it transfers, combines and loads syringes with modest mechanical stress, rather than emulsifying.
That makes it the general-purpose connector on a fat grafting table. Consolidating several harvest syringes into one, moving graft to smaller syringes for injection, and passing fat through a filter or a processing step are all transfers where the aim is to move the tissue, not to change it.
Bore size is what decides whether a transfer preserves the graft or reshapes it. The 2.0mm connector is a transfer tool rather than an emulsifier.

The connector is made from German stainless steel and is fully reusable, steam autoclavable to 134°C. Flush the bore from both ends immediately after every case, before residue sets, and hold it to the light to confirm the channel is clear end to end. A partly blocked bore behaves like a narrower one: it raises the force needed on the plunger and shears the graft more than the 2.0mm rating suggests, with nothing visible to warn the surgeon. Check both Luer threads at every cycle, since a worn thread leaks under the pressure a syringe plunger generates.
