The Mercedes Tip Liposuction Cannula with Toomey Hub is a blunt-tip aspiration cannula with three ports around the shaft, built to fit 60cc Toomey-tip syringes for syringe-assisted liposuction and fat harvesting. The wide, non-Luer Toomey opening lets aspirated fat move without the resistance a narrow taper creates. This fitting is made from 2.0mm (14G) upward. It is listed under Mercedes Tip Liposuction Cannulas, part of the Healermed Liposuction Cannulas and Accessories range.
Buyers also search for this instrument as a 60cc Toomey Mercedes cannula, a syringe liposuction cannula, or a three port fat harvesting cannula.
At a Glance
A Toomey tip is a wide-bore syringe fitting, not a Luer taper. It exists because aspirated fat is thick and moves slowly through a narrow connector. With three ports feeding the lumen, the Mercedes pattern can deliver more than a Luer taper passes, so the wide Toomey hub is the fitting that lets this shaft work at its rated size.
A Mercedes tip cannula has three ports set around the circumference of the shaft near the distal end, spaced evenly at about 120 degrees apart. The name comes from the resemblance to the three-pointed star: three openings radiating from a single point on the shaft. It is the most widely used aspiration port pattern in body contouring, and for most surgeons it is the default cannula the case starts with.
The reason it became the standard is the balance between speed and control. Three ports move considerably more fat per pass than one, so a large area is cleared in reasonable time. Because they sit around the shaft rather than strung along it, the working aperture stays short: removal happens in a defined band near the tip rather than over a long stretch, so the surgeon can still judge how much has come out of any one area.
The radial spacing does something a surgeon feels directly. With ports on one side only, vacuum pulls the cannula toward that side and the hand has to correct for it. With three ports at 120 degrees the load is symmetrical, so the cannula tracks straight and the tunnel it leaves is even. That is what makes the Mercedes pattern forgiving over long passes and in fibrous tissue.
The distal tip is closed and rounded. It separates the plane by blunt dissection as the cannula advances, pushing vessels and nerves aside rather than dividing them, and the vacuum works through the three side ports rather than the end of the shaft.

The cannula is made from German stainless steel with a passivated surface that resists corrosion and pitting through repeated cleaning cycles. It is reusable and can be steam autoclaved at 134°C. Flush the lumen and all three ports with clean water immediately after use and dry fully before autoclaving. Check each port under light at each cycle: the Mercedes pattern only tracks straight while all three draw evenly, and one partly blocked port pulls the cannula off line.
The Toomey fitting starts at 2.0mm, so for finer facial work below 2.0mm choose the Luer lock version instead. Within the Toomey range, 3.0mm in 25cm to 35cm is the most-ordered size, 2.0mm to 2.5mm covers arms and neck, and 3.5mm to 4.0mm suits higher-volume work.

What is a Toomey hub Mercedes cannula used for?
It is used with 60cc Toomey-tip syringes for syringe-assisted liposuction and fat harvesting. The wide non-Luer hub keeps aspirated fat moving instead of clogging at a narrow connector, which matters on a three port shaft that can deliver more than a Luer taper passes.
What is a Mercedes tip cannula used for?
It is used to remove subcutaneous fat under vacuum during liposuction and body contouring. Three ports set at about 120 degrees around the shaft clear fat quickly while keeping the aperture short, and the symmetrical vacuum load lets the cannula track straight through long passes. It is the standard general-purpose liposuction cannula.
What size Mercedes cannula should I use?
3.0mm in 25cm to 35cm is the most-ordered size and covers most abdomen and flank work. Move to 3.5mm or 4.0mm for higher-volume debulking of the abdomen, back and thighs. Use 2.0mm to 2.5mm in 15cm to 25cm for arms, neck and superficial refinement, and 1.0mm to 1.5mm for facial work.
Is a Mercedes cannula autoclavable?
Yes. The instrument is fully reusable and can be steam autoclaved at 134°C. Flush the lumen and all three ports with clean water immediately after use, remove all residue before sterilization, and dry completely. Inspect every port each cycle, since the pattern depends on all three drawing evenly to track straight.
What is the minimum order quantity for bulk orders?
The minimum order quantity is agreed per order rather than set at a fixed number. Send us the sizes, fittings and quantities you need through the wholesale request page and we will confirm the minimum for that specification. This lets a small distributor start with a trial order and a larger importer scale up on the same terms.
Do you provide samples?
Yes. Samples are available on request and the buyer covers the shipping charges. Tell us the diameter and length you want to evaluate and we will confirm what can be sent. Testing a sample first confirms the hub seats correctly on the 60cc syringes you already stock.
Can I order a custom size?
Yes. Custom diameters, working lengths and port configurations are available on request in addition to the standard size grid. Send your specification through the wholesale request page and our production team will confirm what can be produced. Custom branding is also available for distributor and OEM orders.
