The MicroAire PAL Compatible Mercedes Tip Liposuction Cannula is a blunt-tip aspiration cannula with three ports around the shaft, fitted with a hub built for MicroAire PAL power-assisted handpieces. The handpiece drives a short reciprocating stroke so the cannula advances with far less force, and the symmetrical three port draw keeps the powered pass tracking straight. It is listed under Mercedes Tip Liposuction Cannulas, part of the Healermed Liposuction Cannulas and Accessories range.
Buyers also search for this instrument as a Mercedes cannula, a three port liposuction cannula, or a 3 hole Mercedes cannula.
At a Glance
Power-assisted liposuction changes how force reaches the tissue. The handpiece supplies the movement, so the surgeon concentrates on direction and depth rather than pushing. The Mercedes pattern is the natural partner: symmetrical draw means the powered stroke does not fight a sideways pull, so the cannula runs straight through fibrous tissue that would slow a hand-driven pass.
A Mercedes tip cannula has three ports set around the circumference of the shaft near the distal end, spaced evenly at about 120 degrees apart. The name comes from the resemblance to the three-pointed star: three openings radiating from a single point on the shaft. It is the most widely used aspiration port pattern in body contouring, and for most surgeons it is the default cannula the case starts with.
The reason it became the standard is the balance between speed and control. Three ports move considerably more fat per pass than one, so a large area is cleared in reasonable time. Because they sit around the shaft rather than strung along it, the working aperture stays short: removal happens in a defined band near the tip rather than over a long stretch, so the surgeon can still judge how much has come out of any one area.
The radial spacing does something a surgeon feels directly. With ports on one side only, vacuum pulls the cannula toward that side and the hand has to correct for it. With three ports at 120 degrees the load is symmetrical, so the cannula tracks straight and the tunnel it leaves is even. That is what makes the Mercedes pattern forgiving over long passes and in fibrous tissue.
The distal tip is closed and rounded. It separates the plane by blunt dissection as the cannula advances, pushing vessels and nerves aside rather than dividing them, and the vacuum works through the three side ports rather than the end of the shaft.

The cannula is made from German stainless steel with a passivated surface that resists corrosion and pitting through repeated cleaning cycles. It is reusable and can be steam autoclaved at 134°C. Flush the lumen and all three ports with clean water immediately after use and dry fully before autoclaving. Check each port under light at each cycle: the Mercedes pattern only tracks straight while all three draw evenly, and one partly blocked port pulls the cannula off line.
Order this fitting only if you already own a PAL power-assisted handpiece; the hub will not fit a syringe or a manual handle. 3.0mm in 25cm to 35cm is the size most surgeons order first and covers most abdomen and flank work. Step up to 3.5mm or 4.0mm where volume is higher, or to 4.5mm to 6.0mm for large-volume cases and deep-layer work. Drop to 2.0mm to 2.5mm in 15cm to 25cm for arms, neck and superficial refinement, and to 1.0mm to 1.5mm in 5cm to 12cm for facial and submental contouring. Match the fitting to the syringe, vacuum line or handpiece already in your theater.

What is a power-assisted Mercedes cannula used for?
It is used to remove subcutaneous fat under vacuum when the cannula is driven by a reciprocating handpiece instead of by hand. The powered stroke supplies the movement while the symmetrical three port draw keeps the cannula tracking straight, which is why this pairing is common in fibrous and revision tissue.
What is a Mercedes tip cannula used for?
It is used to remove subcutaneous fat under vacuum during liposuction and body contouring. Three ports set at about 120 degrees around the shaft clear fat quickly while keeping the aperture short, and the symmetrical vacuum load lets the cannula track straight through long passes. It is the standard general-purpose liposuction cannula.
What size Mercedes cannula should I use?
3.0mm in 25cm to 35cm is the most-ordered size and covers most abdomen and flank work. Move to 3.5mm or 4.0mm for higher-volume debulking of the abdomen, back and thighs. Use 2.0mm to 2.5mm in 15cm to 25cm for arms, neck and superficial refinement, and 1.0mm to 1.5mm for facial work.
Is a Mercedes cannula autoclavable?
Yes. The instrument is fully reusable and can be steam autoclaved at 134°C. Flush the lumen and all three ports with clean water immediately after use, remove all residue before sterilization, and dry completely. Inspect every port each cycle, since the pattern depends on all three drawing evenly to track straight.
What is the minimum order quantity for bulk orders?
The minimum order quantity is agreed per order rather than set at a fixed number. Send us the sizes, fittings and quantities you need through the wholesale request page and we will confirm the minimum for that specification. This lets a small distributor start with a trial order and a larger importer scale up on the same terms.
Do you provide samples?
Yes. Samples are available on request and the buyer covers the shipping charges. Send us your handpiece details with the diameter and length you want to evaluate. Testing a sample in your own handpiece before a bulk order is strongly recommended for any powered fitting.
Can I order a custom size?
Yes. Custom diameters, working lengths and port configurations are available on request in addition to the standard size grid. Send your specification through the wholesale request page and our production team will confirm what can be produced. Custom branding is also available for distributor and OEM orders.
